Purpose
The purpose was to take different small parts of my paper, and distill them down into a very basic format so that they are more memorable and understandable. The memes are particularly significant to college students, as they are more likely to be meme literate and understand it better than older generations.
Rationale
The process was quite simple, as the first time the professor said that memes were applicable as a genre, I immediately started thinking of ideas. The natural audience would be college students, as that is who would likely be seeing it, and it’s their perspective that I understood the most. Regarding the graphs, I simply looked at the voluminous amount of data that I had and felt it would be better suited in a visual manner rather than a verbal one. The works didn’t have much of a stance, as the paper itself was simply explanatory, and the works reflected that. The graphs denoted a rhetorical situation of comparison between the different religions as far as their consumption and abstinence, meanwhile the memes tried to take understood situations (something being suddenly stopped, ideas increasing in intelligence) and applied the information in the paper to them.
